QìGōng 气功- Breathing Work
Qìgōng is the ancient Chinese practice of channelling Energy (or ‘Qì’) to regulate, strengthen, and purify the body. The word ‘Qìgōng’ generally means ‘Cultivation of Energy’.
The exercises consist of a series of standing and moving meditations that resemble Tàijí 太极 (Tai Chi) in many ways. This method has many applications both for martial arts and healthy living and healing. For our purposes, it is uses to regulate the mind and body after intense workouts, as well as a tool for relaxation and mental discipline.
QiGong is a way of being… Being soft, yet strong.
QiGong is a way of breathing… Breathing deeply, yet comply.
Qigong is a way of standing… Alert, yet relaxed.
